SOFA(A-3) visa holder's Alien Registration In KOREA

Originally the people who have SOFA(A3) visa are exempted from the alien registration in ROK, but if they wish, they can apply for an alien registration card.

 

It means that they can get a identification number and card issued from the Korean government, not US government.

 

As a result, they can easily buy a house and use a internet as a foreigner in korea by using the alien number.

 

But they are exempted from thd obligations to alien registration. For exemple, notification of change in registration information and place of stay.

- SOFA ID card
